Festival of the Arts
For over 30 years the Morden Festival of the Arts has been an important event for the community of Morden and has grown to be one of the largest arts festivals in the province.
The main objective of the Morden Festival is to foster and promote continued interest, growth and development of talent within the arts. The Festival does this by providing a venue for student performance and adjudication in the following disciplines:
- Strings
- Piano
- Visual Arts
- English and French Speech Arts
- Vocal
- Dance
The Festival has grown substantially in both the types of disciplines offered and the number of students involved, thereby spanning more than a month in duration (throughout March and April).
The HiLites Concert is the grand finale of the festival and showcases performances which have been recommended by the adjudicators of each discipline.
Registration for the Morden Festival of the Arts takes place at the beginning of each new year. Piano, Strings, and Dance registration is done through the students’ private teachers and registration for Speech Arts, Vocal and Visual Arts is done at the schools.
Announcements regarding Festival dates and registration deadlines are available through the schools’ monthly newsletters, the local newspapers and local radio stations.
The Morden Festival is a non-profit volunteer-driven organization that strives to encourage high levels of participation by keeping entry fees as low as possible.
The generous financial support of many individuals, businesses and organizations is vital to the continuing growth of the Festival. Anyone wishing to contribute may send their donations to:
