Two More Diamond Jubilee Awards for Mordenites

Diamond Jubilee

Two more Morden residents are being recognized with a Diamond Jubilee Award.  The medals will be presented at the Council Meeting held on March 25th, 2013 at 7:00 pm in the Council Chambers at the Morden Civic Centre. The recipients of the award are Dennis Macklem and Mayor Ken Wiebe.

Both are being recognized for their many years of volunteer service to the community.

Council is very pleased that there are more Morden recipients of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Award.  This award is a commemorative medal which was created to mark the 2012 celebrations of the 60th anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s accession to the Throne as Queen of Canada. The Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal is a tangible way for Canada to honour Her Majesty for her service to this country. At the same time, it serves to honour significant contributions and achievements by Canadians. Over 60,000 deserving Canadians will be recognized.
