Mayor’s Message
On behalf of council and civic staff, I would like to welcome you to the Town of Morden. I am confident that the citizens of our community will greet you warmly and make you feel very much at home.
A town of approximately 7500 people in the heart of the Pembina Valley , Morden is a vibrant community that offers Arts, Culture, (Cultural Capital of Canada 2008), K-12 schools (including French Immersion), many recreational opportunities, and a rich heritage that is evident throughout the community whether you look at our historical buildings or one of the many murals displayed in our downtown. A new state-of- the-art hospital—Boundary Trails Health Centre—is located near by and provides our region with a wide range of health-care services, including MRI facilities.
Morden has a well-established business district, an Industrial Park with concrete streets and services in place, and the Pembina Connection--a new commercial area ripe for further development. Working together with our established business community, our civic staff and our newly elected council, I believe we are in a perfect place to “Build the Future for Morden and Morden for the Future”.
Speaking on behalf of council, we would like to hear from you—both our visitors and our citizens. Tell us about your experiences in Morden and share your ideas for making this an even better community.
Your input is important and we welcome your feedback.

Got an Idea ? Want to discuss it with the Mayor of Morden?
The 2011 survey comments mentioned that working people needed a time when they too could meet with the Mayor. For this reason there will now be one evening time slot a month to meet with the Mayor. Beginning in November these new hours will be offered for six months. Drop by the Civic Centre on Wednesday's.
- 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm - The first Wednesday of the month.
- 10:00 am to 12:00 Noon - The remaining Wednesdays in each month.
Mayor Wiebe or a representative from Council will be available to talk with you. No appointment necessary.
"I always enjoy talking with the citizens of Morden and this is an opportunity where we can discuss issues and possibly find a resolution to a problem," said Mayor Ken Wiebe.
