Morden Wading Pool Gone - Soon to be an Aquatic Splash Park
The Morden Wading Pool in Morden Park had served the community for over 45 years. In October 2009 the wading pool was removed in anticipation of funding and development for an Aquatic Spray Park. Fundraising startee on September 20th, 2009 when the event "Splish Splash Were Having a Bash" was held - raising over $625.00. This was the last chance for people to use the wading pool
Why an Aquatic Spray Park?
- It is environmentally friendly - no chemicals required.
- The water can be recycled. The water can b
e held in an underground tank and pumped out by our parks staff to water the many trees and flowers throughout town. - It is motion or touch activated so water is only running while the playground is being used.
- The hours of operation can be extended so parents and children can enjoy it anytime of the day as well as earlier in the season because it does not require staff to operate.
- Within the Spray Park there is no pooling of water, therefore we are not required to have life guard staff on duty.
- It appleasls to children of all ages as well as parents.
- It will save money in annual operating costs.
