Landfill - SWAMP Information

The regional landfill site (SWAMP) is aimed at providing an environmental way of dealing with the waste from the entire region. Where possible, we encourage residents to practice 3R waste reduction, and to participate in recycling and composting programs in our communities. Watch for notices in the newspaper for the Household Hazardous Waste Depot collection days. The Swamp is located 4 miles North of PTH 14 on 428, 2 miles East, 3/4 mile North.

Tips

  • There will be limited recycling drop off at the SWAMP site. Please continue to participate in the curbside Recycling Program.
  • Uncovered loads will be fined $50.00.

Guidlines

  • No Hazardous Wastes will be accepted at SWAMP
  • No Vehicles, dead livestock, contaminated soil, or clean cardboard will be accepted.
  • There will be a $15.00 charge for appliances with CFC.
  • All vehicles must be properly secured and covered when transporting waste to SWAMP. Uncovered loads will be fined $50.00

Be sure all waste is properly bagged when you drop it off.
