WESTERN SCHOOL DIVISION MISSION STATEMENT

Rooted in Caring; Committed to Learning.

  • We are committed to the educational achievement and the preparation for lifelong success of children.
  • We acknowledge the right of all students to an education consistent with their needs.
  • We value our competent, enthusiastic staff and promote the use of effective practices and resources.
  • We provide a safe, nurturing environment based on mutual respect.
  • We encourage parental and community partnerships in the development of caring, responsible and self-confident citizens

Western School Division (WSD) is small and compact in comparison to others in Canada, but uses this to an advantage by being more flexible in meeting students’ needs and can respond quickly to issues and opportunities. WSD is efficient in its operation and is able to equip schools more substantially than most. The schools are technologically advanced and are connected to each other and to the Internet through a Wide Area Network.

WSD is proud of its record of progressive program development and is acknowledged by neighbouring divisions and Manitoba Education and Training as being in the forefront of educational excellence.
