Morden offers an amazing variety of cultural, artistic and entertainment activities. The exceptionally talented people in the area are why. Having been designated a 2008 Cultural Capital of Canada by Canadian Heritage confirms this. Watch out for all the exciting events that will be happening in 2008.

The Pembina Hills Art Centre

The Pembina Hills Art Centre is run by the Pembina Hills Artists who live in South Central Manitoba. Situated at 352 Stephen Street, the gallery displays a wide selection of original arts and crafts, ideal gifts and souvenirs. They feature a variety of oil, acrylic and watercolor paintings, drawings, photographs, stained glass windows, suncatchers, candleholder, hand carved birds, animals and clocks, prints, painted silk scarves, hand painted china, pottery, wind chimes, cards, jewelry and leather masks. Festival of the Arts: March & April

The Morden Festival of the Arts has been an important event for the community of Morden for over 30 years. It has grown to be one of the largest arts festivals in the province. The main objective of the festival is to foster and promote continued interest, growth and development of talent within the arts. The Festival takes place throughout March & April each year.

Pembina Valley Artists Studio Tour

The Pembina Valley Artists Studio takes place in September. Come to visit the studios of participating artists in the Pembina Valley, and view their creations in picturesque studio locations. As you make your way through the Valley, see history unfold along Morden's tree lined streets graced with 19th century fieldstone commercial buildings and residences. Experience the Mennonite influence in our communities, walk down a traditional Mennonite village street, visit charming tea houses, see impressive historic sites, enjoy pleasant accommodations and enjoy great art! Quilters' Jewel

The Quilters' Jewel is a unique quilting shop filled with 2000 bolts of fabric, quilting tools and supplies. Many books and kits available. Morden Murals

Morden Murals

Morden Murals, (handicap accessible) is a community project of three murals. The first located at the corner of Nelson and Stephen Street on the Olympic Sports Building depicts the 1873 crossing of the Dead Horse Creek by the British North America Boundary Commission Surveyors. The second is located on the east side of Ideas Etc. at the corner of 7th and Stephen Streets. It is a re-enactment of the visit to Morden of Prime Minister Sir John A. Macdonald on July 15, 1886. The third in the set is located on the northeast corner of the Morden Friendship Centre, 306 North Railway Street.

Leo Mol Sculpture

Leo Mol Sculpture, (handicap accessible) is located on in the Kinsmen Suncatch on 8th Street immediately behind the Pembina Hills Regional Art Gallery.

Agriculture & Agri-Food Canada Research Centre

Agriculture & Agri-Food Canada Research Centre. The Department of Agriculture in 1915 established the Research Centre, thanks, in part, to the horticultural work previously done by pioneer A.P. Stevenson. It was originally started as an experimental farm to conduct research and demonstrate to farmers better methods of growing their crops and the use of trees and shrubs to beautify and protect their land. The location was selected because of our long growing season, notably the greatest number of frost free days on the prairies.

South Central Regional Library

South Central Regional Library, Morden Branch (514 Stephen Street) houses in excess of 56,500 volumes and an annual circulation of 165,000. The branch is a select Depository Library for Canadian and Manitoba Government materials and organizes a number of children's story hours and reading programs. An annual book sale is held during the second weekend in May. Other programs include On Line Public Access Catalogue, Internet Access, Inter Branch Loans, Inter Library Loan, Large Print Books, Talking Books and Books in other languages.
