Phase 3 Cost: $2.7 million (Estimated)

  • Extension to the Community Hall and stage renovation
  • Office renovations
  • Two new meeting rooms
  • New indoor playroom area

Aquatic Spray Park For MordenAquatic Spray Park

When all options were considered for the replacement of the Morden Park Wading Pool, an Aquatic Spray Park was identified as the most popular choice.

Location: Morden Park
Cost: $150,000 (Estimated)

Why an Aquatic Spray Park?

  • It is environmentally friendly – no chemicals required
  • The water can be recycled. It will be held in an underground tank and pumped out by the parks staff to water the trees and flowers throughout Town
  • It is motion or touch activated so water is only running while the playground is being used
Parents and children can enjoy extended hours as well as earlier in the season since it does not require staff to operate
  • There is no pooling of water, therefore we are not required to have life guard staff on duty
It will save money in annual operating costs

40-Acre Recreation Grounds For Morden40-Acre Recreational Grounds

Bike/Walking Plan for MordenBike/Walking Trail Plan

The biking and walking trails of Morden are used extensively. Morden has provided many trails in the past and as the Town continues to expand, the need continues to grow. Where possible the proposed trails will be made of asphalt and wide enough for 2 bikes to pass each other. This will accommodate cyclists, walkers, those on roller blades and baby strollers as well as meeting safety needs for all users.

Location: Various locations are being planned such as access to the lake, campground, future recreational grounds, etc.

Cost: $200,000 (Estimated)

Local and visiting cyclists, runners and walkers will enjoy using these new paths, providing for safer exercise and transportation options.

Skateboard Park for MordenSkate Park

The Morden Skateboard Park Coalition is the driving force behind this project. Council has given it’s support by allocating $50,000 towards the project as well as agreeing to supply the land.

Location: Corner of 1st St. & Wardrop St.
Cost: $250,000 (Estimated)

Why a Skateboard Park?

  • Provide a safe and accessible place to skateboard
  • Offer a better alternative for skateboarders away from public and private property
  • Design is aesthetically pleasing and complimentary to the surrounding landscape
  • Skateboarding requires inexpensive equipment and emphasizes personal creativity and development
  • Skateboarding is the most popular activity among kids who are not in mainstream sports
  • Skateboarding is the single fastest growing athletic activity on the continent and shows no signs of slowing down
  • Create additional tourism
