The City of Morden Council is pleased to announce the topics for discussion at the next Public Forum on November 4th, 2013. It will take place at the Access Event Centre in the Morden Chiropractic Centre Meeting Room at 7:00 pm.
The format of the Public Forum will start with a presentation of the topics that Council has chosen for discussion. Once the presentation is complete, everyone will break into table groups. Each group will be asked to select two of the three topics and then appoint a chairperson and a recorder to record the suggestions. A Council member will be present at each table. This Councillor will not get involved in the conversation other than to ask follow up questions of the residents.
The topics for the November 4th Public Forum are:
• Age Friendliness of the Community: What does the City need to do to ensure the aging population continues to have mobility in Morden?
• City Beautification: What types of beautification would residents like to see?
• New Initiatives: What new initiatives do residents see for Morden in the next few years?
“Council looks forward to getting some good feedback on these subjects. We hope this new format will encourage residents to come to the Public Forum to share their ideas. Everyone is welcome to attend,” said Mayor Ken Wiebe.
