The City of Morden is pleased to announce the appointment of Shawn Dias as the Parks Manager, reporting to the Director of Community Services. Shawn will be replacing Harold Janzen who is retiring after serving Morden for over 17 years.
This full time position is responsible for all the arboriculture and horticulture requirements for the City of Morden. Basically all the green space management.
Shawn has seven years’ experience in southern Manitoba as a Woodlot Forester. He relocated to Morden in 2007 with his family. Shawn’s skills include implementing tree planting programs, tree care and pruning, plus insect and disease identification.
“The City of Morden is a great community, filled with wonderful people and places. I am very excited to be working for Community Services and helping to maintain and enhance the city’s parks, green spaces and trees. I look forward to being out in the community and welcome anyone to stop by, call or email with any questions, concerns or just to say hi,” said Shawn Dias.
“Shawn is responsible for green space management in Morden. I think his experience and interest in the community will be a great asset. I’m looking forward to working with Shawn in efforts to keep Morden looking beautiful,” said Clare Agnew – Director of Community Services.
