Morden’s Community Resources Officer Resigns

Carol WilkinsonAfter serving the City of Morden as Community Resources Officer (CRO) for over 10 years, Carol Wilkinson submitted her resignation to the City Manager on March 17th, 2014. Her last day will be May 16th, 2014 at which time she will begin to enjoy her retirement.

Directed by Council, the CRO develops and maintains communication tools such as the website, newsletters, surveys, news releases and media relations as well as marketing & promotional materials for tourism and economic development. Researching and applying for grant funding is another role of this position.

“Carol has provided a great deal of expertise to our community over the last 10 years. Her work on the Morden Tourism Marketing Team, the City website, Quarterly Newsletter as well as regular media releases has kept our community informed as well as enabling us to reach a world-wide audience. Her ability to write grant applications has provided us with funds that have contributed economically and culturally to our community. People with Carol’s ability and friendly can do attitude are great to work with, she will be missed,” said Mayor Ken Wiebe on behalf of Council.

“When I started the job in 2003, I said it was the Right Job, Right Time and Right Place. Now after enjoying over 10 years of service to the community it is the Right Time for me to retire,” said Carol Wilkinson, Community Resources Officer.
