Morden Recreation Update: April 17, 2019

Don’t miss out on programs and events coming up in Morden!
Coming up we have the following:

*Red Cross Standard First Aid Courses (May 8 & 11 and June 1 & 8)
This is a great course to have, and many employers now require it!
Add First Aid Certification to your resume!


*Red Cross Babysitting Course (July 4)
This is a great leadership course that offers basic first aid and caregiving skills for youth 11-15 years old. 


*Swimming Lesson Registration
-The schedule is posted online. Registration will open May 15 at 6pm. Register online or at the Access Event Centre May 15, 6:00-8:30pm.


*Camps
-We are excited to partner with Regional Connections for our Summer Camps this year! Information will be posted in the near future at www.mordenmb.com/camps.

*Early Dismissal Art Attack
-We only have one more session left – May 15! We will be painting trinket boxes with Clay Owl (now owned and operated by Gateway!).

*Learn to Skate (all ages)
Don’t miss the opportunity to learn how to skate together with your whole family. Program is for ages 5+ and is run by volunteer skate mentors!

Mental Health Week (May 7-12)
Mental Health Week is coming up! Many of the programs and events are free, and some have a small fee. Sonia Funk is our main keynote and she will present on the triggers that affect our mental health including stress, food, our microbiome, social media, our phones and relationships.

Other events for Mental Health week include a mental health expo, cardio drumming, yoga for mental health, partner yoga, intro to mindfulness meditation, John Janzen keynote with Habitat for Humanity, teen and adult kickboxing, lunch and learn on digestion and mental health, mindful triathlon a workshop called “The Struggle is Real”

Minor Ball, South Central Youth Soccer, and Timbits Soccer Registration have all happened. Use contact info below to inquire about late registration. Timbits forms are currently being accepted at the Access Event Centre with $20 cash or cheque.
