Note! This program was initially scheduled to start Monday Feb 4. The start dates has been postponed by one week due to the weather.
A chance to leave behind the stresses of “adulting” and have brief reprieve to your youthful younger years. Each of the four evenings with have a theme that encapsulates the freedom to create the perfectly imperfect. Artistic skills, imagination and creativity NOT NECESSARY, they will be provided!
Location: Morden Library (use back lane entrance)
Playdough and Fingerpaint
Colour, consistency and texture will be the theme of the night. When was the last time you fingerpainted? Squished dough – that you had no intention of eating? It is time to do it again!
Toys and Games
Think back to your childhood, what was your favourite toy? A doll, a tractor, Etch-a-sketch or Magna-doodle, Tinkertoys or K’nex, Mechano or Duplo? Toys and games from long ago. Bring any you would like to share or reminisce about the ones you remember. A selection will be available, some might be invented?
Architects and Engineers will be envious of the end results! Duct tape, cardboard and paper towel rolls will be turned into marble mazes, geometric shapes, (undetermined) abstract structures? If you have any “building” supplies that haven’t made it to the recycling bin yet, feel free to bring them. Supplies will be provided
Pinterest… I have never found the fine print disclaimer that *final results may not be as shown* but it doesn’t matter anyway! Design ideas and the supplies needed will be provided. If you have any of your own creations that you would like to share bring them along for show and tell! Popsicle sticks, glue sticks and a bucket of beads will be among the various supplies that will be used.
All supplies will be provided. Bring a friend, bring a spouse, bring a stranger that might be up for an adventure!
This is an opportunity for those of us that have left childhood in the past. Kids will have an unfair advantage and although they might be great teachers, these are adult only evenings.
