How to Start a Licensed Child Care Home

The Morden Community Development Corporation in partnership with Morden & District Chamber of Commerce will be hosting an information session on “How to start a Licensed Child Care Home”.

This is a free information session planned for February 20th at 7:00pm at the Morden & District Chamber of Commerce Boardroom, 100-379 Stephen Street.

The speakers will be – Carol Gardiner, Program Manager, Children’s Programs and Angela Wall, Child Care Coordinator with Family Services and Labour.

What is a Child Care Home?
The main difference between a child care centre and home is that in the child care home the number of children is considerably less than in a centre. Like centre care, home care provides full-time pre-school care for children whose parents are working, attending school or must be away from their children for other reasons.

“Morden has an urgent need for licensed Child Care spaces. If you are considering the idea of starting a Licensed Child Care Home, this workshop will give you all the information you need,” said Cheryl Digby – Community Development Officer.
