The City of Morden is pleased to announce there will be a Grand Opening for the PDO Building (Planning & Development Office) at 133 – 7th Street on Friday November 9th, 2012 from 10:00 am to 12:00 Noon. Residents are invited to come for a tour of the building and enjoy some refreshment.
The decision to purchase an existing building was made by Council, after having studied the cost comparisons of renovating the Civic Centre building or purchasing an existing building that was ready for use. The PDO Building has eight offices, a copier/print room, a meeting room, washrooms and a reception area. No renovations were necessary and it accommodates future growth.
The following six City staff members moved to the new location on October 15th, 2012:
Because there will not be a receptionist, all six staff members have been given a direct line. If residents want to meet with any of the above members of staff it is recommended they phone to make an appointment. There may be times when everyone is out of the office so it is best to check first to see if the staff person can see you.
What this means for the Civic Centre is the Mayor & Council will now have an office again. Having gone without one for many years meant there were many conflicts with the use of the meeting room. The Mayor & Council Office is now just to the right of the front entrance. The ‘Meet the Mayor’ session will take place every Wednesday morning from 10:00 am to 12:00 Noon. No appointment necessary.
We invite everyone to come and see the City of Morden PDO Building.
