By-Law Enforcement

Where citizen activities or property conditions don’t meet acceptable municipal standards, Morden’s By-Law Officer provides education, warnings, inspections, and applies penalties.  The By-Law Officer works with citizens in neighbourhoods and business communities to ensure that Morden’s basic community standards are maintained to a reasonable level. Community standards are the rules that are in place to help residents to live together in harmony. The City of Morden encourages safety, cleanliness, and livability at the neighbourhood level.

The City of Morden By-Law Officer is responsible for the enforcement of By-laws, Policies and Provincial regulations.  The following are a few examples.

By-laws covering things like:

  • Animal Control
  • Business Licences
  • Placement of Garage Sale Signs
  • Creek Bank issues
  • Noise caused by animals
  • Obstructions on City property
  • Model Vehicles & Aircraftt
  • Nuisances
  • Derelict and unsightly property
  • Traffic – not related to he Highway Traffic Act
  • Recreational Vehicle Parking


  • Weed Control Policy
  • Tree Control Policy
  • Delivery of Tax Notices under Section 4 of the Tax Sale Policy
