The winner was Morden resident David Friesen. The announcement was made on April 15th at the Boston Pizza where he was presented with his prize.

  • Potential purchasers of property in this area have stressed that they wanted their customer base to be regional.
  • Morden is located in the Pembina Valley.
  • This name will help customers from the entire region feel welcome.
  • The name is easy to spell and pronounce.
  • The name does not dictate what can be built in this area.

How many people entered?

We received 112 entries with very few duplications. The entries were sent to the Morden Chamber of Commerce and the Morden Tourism Marketing Team for thier top ten choices. Then the final top ten went to the MCDC for a final choice, making sure that the name could be registered. The final step is for the name to go to Council for their approval. The winner will then be announced.

MCDC wants a distinctive name for the new business area and your creative ideas can help. The right name will attract both businesses and customers to this new development.

The prize is a big screen TV plus having the satisfaction of naming Morden's newest business area.
